Finance Manager

Job Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the organization’s financial operations to ensure financial sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence. The role encompasses revenue assurance, cash management, accounting oversight, budgeting, financial analysis, and team leadership, supporting informed decision-making and contributing to the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Assurance & Billing Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective controls and monitoring mechanisms to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.
  • Identify potential revenue leakage risks, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Billing, and Technical teams to validate billing accuracy, service delivery, and revenue integrity.
  • Monitor subscription billing cycles, discounts, promotions, and pricing structures to ensure compliance with company policies and approved practices.

Cash Management

  • Supervise the cashier function to ensure daily cash collections, reconciliations, and deposits are conducted accurately and securely.
  • Establish, implement, and enforce robust cash-handling procedures and internal control measures.
  • Ensure timely processing of customer payments, refunds, and bank transactions.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Lead and oversee the accounting team to ensure the accurate preparation of financial statements, ledgers, reconciliations, and management reports.
  • Review and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, statutory requirements, and applicable financial reporting standards.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor operational expenditures (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) to optimize financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Provide management with periodic financial performance reports, business insights, and risk assessments.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team to foster a high-performing, engaged, and accountable work environment.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen financial governance practices across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (10) years of experience in finance, including at least three (5) years in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Previous experience within the ISP or telecommunications sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Revenue Assurance, Billing Systems, Cash Management, and Financial Controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or equivalent financial platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

  • Full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and financial procedures.
  • Response time of less than 48 hours for finance-related inquiries and operational issues.
  • Accurate and timely completion of financial reporting cycles.
  • Achievement of agreed departmental objectives and performance targets.
  • Resolution of financial discrepancies and operational issues within established service timelines.
